ABOUT THE KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA JYOTIPURAM

KV. Jyotipuram was established on July 4 1978 with secondary classes. There are 2/3 sections in each classes. The building has the facility of providing two separate computer labs and a Junior science laboratory along with Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories. There is a well stocked library and there is a separate Geography lab in the Vidyalaya. The emphasis is on developing a scientific temper among the students. To ensure balanced development of personality of each child, inter-house competitions, sports, scouts and Guides and adventure activities are organized. A nature club in the Vidyalaya makes the students conscious about nature. A guidance and Counseling cell is also formed in the Vidyalaya catering to the emotional and career queries of the students. Life skill education , value education , remedial teaching and disaster management have become an integral part of the curriculum.

About the K. V. Family:

Kendriya Vidyalaya SPS Jyotipuram J&K is one of the 931 Kendriya Vidyalayas all over the country, including two abroad – one in Moscow and the other in Kathmandu. The Scheme of the Kendriya Vidyalayas came into existence in 1963 to provide uninterrupted education to the wards of the Central Government employees who move from one linguistic area to another.

On the recommendation of 2nd Central Pay Commission in 1962 to provide common education with common syllabus and curriculum to the children of transferable Central government employees including defence personnel, the Ministry of Education, Government of India took over 25 regimental school run by defence establishment and converted into Central schools in 1963. Later on these Central School were rechristened as Kendriya Vidyalayas and as on today near about 900 Kendriya Vidyalayas through the breadth and length of our country meet the needs of a common education to the children of transferable Central Government Employees defence and project personnel. This phenomenal growth of KV is due to its popularity and rapid stride in all key areas of present (day education reforms and has come to be recognized as pivotal institutions striving to rise the quality of education at school level. K. V.’s. have improved there infra-structure facilities and education in all its sphere so much that today no educational organization is there in competition.

KVS envisions itself a world class organization in school education committed to continually empowering teachers to actualize inside out synergy in students and enable them to fulfill futuristic societal, national and global needs and aspirations. 

 

Our Mission

KVS has a four fold mission viz:- 

1.) To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including defence and para military personnel by providing a common programme of education.
2.)  To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.
3.)  To initiate and promote experimentations andinnovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like CBSE, NCERT, etc.
4. ) To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.
